I am using this blog to deploy FLAN-UL2 on SageMaker ([Deploy FLAN-UL2 20B on Amazon SageMaker](https://www.philschmid.de/deploy-flan-ul2-sagemaker)). Everything works fine except the last 2 steps on inferencing. During inferencing (predictor.predict) it is giving me the below error:

ValueError: (“You need to define one of the following [‘audio-classification’, ‘automatic-speech-recognition’, ‘feature-extraction’, ‘text-classification’, ‘token-classification’, ‘question-answering’, ‘table-question-answering’, ‘visual-question-answering’, ‘document-question-answering’, ‘fill-mask’, ‘summarization’, ‘translation’, ‘text2text-generation’, ‘text-generation’, ‘zero-shot-classification’, ‘zero-shot-image-classification’, ‘conversational’, ‘image-classification’, ‘image-segmentation’, ‘image-to-text’, ‘object-detection’, ‘zero-shot-object-detection’, ‘depth-estimation’, ‘video-classification’] as env ‘HF\_TASK’.”, 403)

Did anyone manage to make it work on SageMaker endpoint? Could you please recommend a way to fix the error…

Have you made any modifications? Can you please share the whole logs? it seems that your `model.tar.gz` didn’t get build correctly. Where are you running the code?

@philschmid, I relooked at the model tar file, and there was an issue in terms of using pigz library. after fixing it, the inference in the notebook ran correctly. I was also able to use boto3 to invoke the endpoint. Superb!

Hey @philschmid, I followed step by step your notebook; here is the deployment code:

huggingface\_model = HuggingFaceModel(

@philschmid I redeployed the model with the new changes on the notebook and now it is working fine.
%%writefile code/requirements.txt
accelerate==0.15.0
transformers==4.27.2

I also changed this part of the code:

from pathlib import Path
import os

# set HF\_HUB\_ENABLE\_HF\_TRANSFER env var to enable hf-transfer for faster downloads

os.environ[“HF\_HUB\_ENABLE\_HF\_TRANSFER”] = “1”
from huggingface\_hub import snapshot\_download

HF\_MODEL\_ID=“google/flan-ul2”

# Create a directory for the model in the specified directory

base\_dir = Path(“/home/ec2-user/SageMaker/”)
model\_tar\_dir = base\_dir.joinpath(“model\_directory”)
model\_tar\_dir.mkdir(exist\_ok=True)

# Set cache directory to be in the same filesystem as model\_tar\_dir

cache\_dir = base\_dir.joinpath(“.cache”)
cache\_dir.mkdir(exist\_ok=True)

# Download model from Hugging Face into model\_dir

snapshot\_download(HF\_MODEL\_ID, local\_dir=str(model\_tar\_dir), local\_dir\_use\_symlinks=False, cache\_dir=str(cache\_dir))

# copy code/ to model dir

copy\_tree(“code/”, str(model\_tar\_dir.joinpath(“code”)))

Is there an end to end example on how to fine tune a model like this?

Thanks,

Jorge
